Draw your three cards — Quick

Quick 3-card tarot reading in 30 seconds

This is what you get in 30 seconds.
Past Present Future

The three-card spread is the reading most people learn first, and for good reason. Three cards are enough to tell a story without drowning you in symbols. One card looks behind you, one sits with where you are, and one points toward what is taking shape.

Use it when a question has a timeline — a relationship that changed, a choice you are circling, a habit you cannot quite name. It is also a kind companion for a daily draw if you want more than a single image to sit with.

You do not need a special deck or years of study. Shuffle with the question in mind, lay three cards from left to right, and read them as a sentence: what was, what is, and what may yet unfold.

The Cards in This Spread

Position 1: The Past

This card names the root of the question — a choice already made, a pattern you inherited, or a moment that still colors how you see things. It is not here to blame you. It simply shows what you are walking out of.

Draw Past

Position 2: The Present

The middle card is the weather you are standing in. It may confirm a feeling you have been trying to ignore, or it may name a tension between what you want and what you are actually doing. Read it as a snapshot, not a verdict.

Draw Present

Position 3: The Future

This is a likely direction, not a locked fate. It shows where the present path is heading if nothing changes — and, just as usefully, what becomes possible if you take a different step. Treat it as counsel, then decide.

Draw Future

How to Read It

  1. Settle on one clear question. “What do I need to understand about this?” works better than a yes-or-no demand.
  2. Shuffle until the deck feels ready. Draw three cards and lay them left to right: past, present, future.
  3. Look at each card on its own first — image, suit, and the feeling it gives you — before you weave them into one story.
  4. Read across the row as a sentence. Notice repeating symbols, a shift in tone, or a card that seems to answer the one beside it.
  5. Close the reading with one practical takeaway: something you can do, release, or watch for in the days ahead.
